first thing- please relieve my anxiety about having the least liked blog in the 'sphere by posting a comment. even if you just say "hi, i'm here & you stink", i want to feel noticed. and here ends the begging. now, on to the recipe fun. a week or so ago, i made this pork chop recipe. i'm not a big meat eater but i enjoy a nice chop every now & again. i searched for a recipe for baked pork chops & found one that looked good. i normally bread & fry pork chops (and use the drippings to make yummy white gravy) but john requested baked chops.
i have an unfortunate phobia about undercooked meat. unfortunate in that it has caused me to often overcook pork chops & chicken. i have suffered through dry & chewy meat more times than i care to mention solely because i don't know the proper length of time to cook said meat. that's why i like a recipe. someone else has gone through the trial & error & i get the piece of mind of a set timer. and this leads me to the reason i recommend this recipe.
i didn't care for the amount of lemon pepper. i ended up scraping it all off & was left with a nicely seasoned chop. john ate his with all the spicey & thoroughly enjoyed it. if i made the recipe again, i'd probably skip the lemon pepper & use fresh lemon juice, maybe even a little lemon zest, and a little pepper. the reason i really like this recipe & will try it again is that the chops came out perfectly cooked & super juicy.
one part of the recipe i did not follow was the tin foil envelope part. after reading several reviews that mentioned smoke in the house caused by leaky foil, i followed what another reviewer did: put chops in pan & cover with foil. this worked out perfectly. i even took a little of the leftover juice & put it on some taters & it was very tasty.
so, i totally recommend putting some butter & worcestershire sauce on your pork chops (along with whatever other spice/herbs you want), putting them in a pan & covering it with tin foil & baking for 35 minutes. you'll be happy with the results.
i also recommend saying worcestershire the way it's spelled because it's funny.
